[Disassembly] Nerf - Accustrike Falconfire

Today we're going to be looking at the Nerf Accustrike Falconfire. This is a single shot breech loaded pistol. Out of the packaging mine did not seem to be getting stellar performance. My old Nightfinder would shoot harder. I found out why, and you'll see in the pictures below.

First things first, remove the screws from the priming handle.

Then remove the screws from the rest of the shell and separate the halves.

You will be left with this;

I suggest removing the dart tooth first, as mine went flying when I removed the plunger tube.

This is how the trigger/catch and ratcheting system should look. The ratcheting system (in front of the trigger) is what locks the plunger from automatically returning forward until the plunger head catches at the back of the priming motion. The pivoting arm directly in front of the trigger is the trigger lock so that you can't pull the trigger unless the plunger is primed fully.

Remove the trigger and catch, make sure not to lose the catch spring.

Also, remove the tactical rail retention piece (I always tend to lose them if I don't).

You should now remove the dart tooth and the dart tooth arm and their springs. Also remove the ratchet and trigger lock. You should now be able to remove the plunger/barrel.

To disassemble the plunger tube, remove the two springs at the rear of the plunger tube. Pay attention to the orientation of the grey cap. When reassembling, the cap must have the protrusion on the outside. The plunger will NOT work if the cap is installed backwards (ask me how I know).

This is where my performance problems arose. If you look at the rubber gasket, it was not sitting properly inside of the floating plunger head. I pulled it out and re-centered it which made a world of difference. It is now performing much better.

This is what your plunger tube should look like completely disassembled. This would now be the best time to upgrade your spring if you wish to.

  1. Muito obrigado. Descobri que tem uma trava que não funciona. Tirei e a nerf funcionou.

  2. Could you please please add how the plunger tube is reassembled correctly? How do you prevent the orange part and the red part falling apart when reassembling it?

    In between the orange part and the red part is another small orange part and a spring. How do you keep all this together?

    Thanks so much!
